MEMBERS NOTICE
The committee has decided to run a Members Athletic Triathlon Meeting on the evening of Monday 13th September. This will give all members the opportunity to compete in race conditions. All performances will count towards PB's and Club Records and Achievement Awards.
As you are aware Monday is our normal training night and as such no training will take place, instead athletes will compete in an athletic triathlon. Obviously time is a critical factor in organising an event on an evening and hence we would ask our younger athletes to start arriving at 6-00pm or as soon as possible thereafter with the first race starting shortly after at 6-15pm. Please use this time to warm up. Older athletes should note that their races commence at 7pm. Parents of younger athletes should also be aware that the last Under 11 races only start at around 7-30pm so athletes will be a little late leaving.
The competition will be run similar to a Heptathlon or Decathlon whereby your times/distances will be converted into points, with the eventual winner being the athlete in each age group with the most points overall.
Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd boy and 1st 2nd and 3rd girl in the following age groups. All ages as per the school year ending in 2010.

Athletes must compete in 3 events to be eligible for trophies (2 track and one field). You do not have to compete in all 3 events if you do not wish. Your times etc will be posted on the Club Web Site.
This is a great opportunity for members to experience competition for the first time and hopefully will encourage members to compete in league meetings in 2011.
Due to time constraints the choice of events is limited.

The approximate timetable will be as follows:-
6-20pm U11 75m Once you have finished your race you move straight to the Turbo Javelin
6-40pm U11 Turbo Javelin (3 throws to be taken one after another with the best being measured)
7-00pm U13/15/17/20 Girls 100m
7-20pm U13/15/17/20 Boys 100m
7-20pm U13/15/17/20 Girls Javelin (3 throws to be taken one after another with the best being measured)
7-40pm U13/15/17/20 Boys Javelin (3 throws to be taken one after another with the best being measured)
7-30pm U11 600m
8-00 U13/15/17/20 Girls 600m
8-20 U13/15/17/20 Boys 600m
No entries will be accepted on the day, so you must pre enter and this can be done any time between now and 9th September (no entries accepted after this date).
Early entries will help the administration of the event
Please complete entry forms and hand in at the entrance with your £1 entry fee. Numbers can then be collected at the door nearer the date or on the day of competition.
On the day
Arrive at the start in time for your first event, having collected your number from the door if not previously collected. During the meeting can all parents and athletes please keep to the outside of the track unless you are an athlete and your next event is due.
Race results will not be published on the night in view of the time constraints however all race results and the Triathlon results will be published on the clubs web site

Presentation of trophies will be made on training evenings.It is the athletes responsibility to ensure you arrive at the start in time for your events.
